Do you want to lose weight? If so, we are here to give you some weight loss tips. To lose weight you need to burn off more calories than you are eating. However, don’t cut down too drastically as this can slow the metabolism down. Losing 1 or 2 pounds a week is best.

    There are a lot of diets out there like the F Plan which increases your intake of fiber and the Keto diet which is high in fat, but low in carbohydrates. However, you can just cut down on portion sizes and the types of food that you eat.

    Well, if you are a meat eater, you shouldn’t eat too much red meat. Stick to poultry and fish which are lower in calories. If you are a vegetarian, beans, nuts and soy are good. You shouldn’t cut out fats altogether as they help you to feel full but stick to healthy fats like olive oil. Fiber also helps you to feel full and beans and jacket potatoes are good sources of fiber. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables which are low in calories and packed full of vitamins and minerals. When it comes to carbohydrates, choose whole grains like brown rice rather than bleached white products which have had a lot of their nutrients stripped away. Keep away from processed foods which also contain less nutrients.

  3. Do not eat sugar

    If you are on a weight loss diet, you should cut down on sugar. Choose to diet fizzy drinks instead of sugary ones. Save cakes and cookies for a special treat, not as a normal everyday part of your diet.  

  4. Reduce salt in your diet

    Another weight loss tip is to cut salt out of your diet. It makes you retain water and therefore gain weight. There are plenty of other things you can use to spice up your meal, like pepper, paprika, chili, garlic and cumin.

  5. Drinking plenty of water can help you lose weight

    If you are on a weight loss diet it’s best to be careful as to what you drink. We have already mentioned fizzy drinks, but alcohol is also full of calories. If you do enjoy a drink try to stick to 1 glass of wine or beer a day. Juice is also fattening so again it’s better to stick to 1 glass a day. Fresh fruit and vegetables are much better for you. Water is very important if you’re on a weight loss diet. Try to drink 8 glasses a day. As well as hydrating your body it fills you up and so you eat less.

  6. Move more!

    Another great weight loss tip is to start exercising. Perhaps you aren’t that keen on exercise, but even walking will help you to lose weight. Once you’ve got into a regular walking routine, perhaps try something a little more energetic like swimming or riding a bicycle. Maybe join an aerobics or zumba class or go to your local gym.

  7. Eat small meals more frequently

    If you are on a weight loss diet you may be tempted to skip meals, but don’t. It doesn’t do your metabolism any good and in fact
    5 or 6 small meals a day are better as they keep your metabolism working. It’s also a great idea to keep a food diary so you can keep track of everything you eat. If you are desperate for a snack in-between meals go for raw vegetables rather than cookies.

Diet Chicken

This is a really simple recipe which can be prepared easily when you get home from work and it only has 131 calories per serving.

Mix a can of diet coke with a cup of chicken broth, ½ cup tomato paste, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and garlic. Heat this up and then whisk. Add 8 boneless chicken thighs and cook for 20 minutes. Season to taste. When serving, sprinkle a little parsley on top. This is great served with boiled new potatoes and vegetables.

Vegetable Soup

Vegetable soup is a great choice if you are on a diet. It doesn’t have many calories and the vegetables fill you up. In fact there are only 94 calories per serving.

All the vegetables you need for this recipe have to be chopped. First of all fry a chopped onion and then add cabbage, 3 carrots, 3 celery stalks and 3 tomatoes. As everything begins to soften, add 16 ounces of frozen green peas or beans and 6 cups of vegetable stock. It just takes 30 minutes to cook and then put it through a blender. You will get a lovely thick soup.
