All you have to do is fry 3 cloves of garlic and then add a pound of chicken breast. Fry this until the meat isn’t pink anymore. Add two cans of tomatoes together with 2 tablespoons of basil and simmer for just 5 minutes. Then add a pound of green beans and heat and it’s ready to serve.
Black Bean Veggie Burgers
This is an ideal dish for you if you don’t eat meat. Get out your food processor and blitz half a green pepper, half an onion and 3 cloves of garlic. Add this to a 16 ounce can of black beans which have been mashed up.
Mix an egg with cumin, hot sauce, and chili and put this into the bean mixture and then add 1 and a half cups of breadcrumbs. Bake at 375F for 20 minutes, turning over the burgers halfway through.
They are delicious in a bun with relish, ketchup or mayonnaise. Perhaps also add tomatoes and salad leaves.

Lemony Steamed Fish
Fish is very low in calories and this recipe only has 142 calories per serving. It’s definitely a healthy dinner idea.
You can use any type of fish such as cod, salmon or halibut. Take 6 pieces of fish fillet and put them in foil. Sprinkle over dill, onion powder, paprika, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Then pour over lemon juice. Bake at 375F for 30 minutes. Great served with boiled new potatoes or fries.
People think that pork is high in calories but this recipe only gives you 179 calories per portion. It’s a great healthy dinner idea.
All you have to do is put 2 pounds of pork tenderloin and 2 cups of chopped onions into a slow cooker. Rub some garlic powder and pepper onto the pork and add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, a cup of red wine and half a cup of water. Cook on low for 4 hours. There will be some liquid left and you can use this as a jus or gravy.
Asian Beef Stir Fry
This dish is a little higher in calories than the previous ones; 333 calories per portion, but it’s still worth adding to your diet if you watch what else you eat.
The first thing to do is to cut 1 pound of beef sirloin into strips. Then you need to mix together and cook 4 cups of vegetables. You can use whatever vegetables you want. Broccoli is a good choice as are peas, spinach, peppers, bean sprouts, and mushrooms. Cook these in water for 4 minutes and then remove so you can cook the meat with garlic. Put the vegetables back in, add some stir fry sauce and red pepper and you are good to go.
This is great served with rice and you can sprinkle peanuts on top for added flavor.
Broccoli and Artichoke Dip
If you’re on a diet you may get hungry in between meals. If so, what do you eat? Answer – healthy snacks! Well, this broccoli and artichoke dip will help you fill up and it doesn’t take long to make.
All you have to do is cut up 1 pound of broccoli florets, add garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper and roast for 15 minutes. Then mix this in with a can of artichoke hearts, a sliced onion, tarragon, cumin, and paprika. Add a quarter a cup of parmesan and half a cup of Greek yogurt and mix. This is great served with veggie sticks like peppers, carrots, and cucumber.
Who doesn’t love a muffin but most people think of them being sweet. However, savory ones are just as good. For this recipe you need to get out 2 bowls. In one mix together 2 cups of flour, half a teaspoon of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and salt. In the other mix together 4 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 eggs and a cup of milk. Once you have mixed these mix both with 6 ounces of grated zucchini, 10 ounces of spinach, a sliced onion and 5 ounces of cheddar cheese. Put the mixture into muffin cups and bake at 400F for 25 minutes.
Hummus is very good for you as it has lots of fiber. This recipe is great if you’re on a diet and want an easy healthy recipe. All you have to do is roast a red pepper until it’s charred. When it has cooled down, remove the skin. Put this in a food processor with a can of chick peas, garlic, a quarter a cup of tahini, paprika, cumin, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Blend all of it together and serve on crackers. Delicious.
Stuffed Red Pepper
Roast halved red bell peppers in the oven until they are reasonably soft. Cool them down and then add guacamole as a filling. To make the guacamole, mash avocados with cumin, coriander, chili, garlic, salt and pepper.
